The system provided by Water Innovations, Inc. utilized for the first time Kinetico’s innovative Hydrus backwashing valve for the duplex carbon pre-treatment unit.  In place of a traditional carbon system with either manual or actuated valves for service and regeneration control, the Hydrus enables automated counter-current backwashing ensuring effective suspended solids removal with the lowest possible water volume.  Use of the Hydrus valves saved for Marcel valuable floor space while lowering the system cost by more than $10,000.
