Filtration
Macrolite, a processed mineral oxide
manufactured exclusively by Kinetico, is used as a highly
efficient filter media for the removal of suspended matter
to below 3 microns.
Filtration using Macrolite media depends
on physical straining and adsorption as primary removal
mechanisms. The rounded
shape provides a relatively uniform matrix of interstitial
passages between the media granules. These uniform passages
are key to the media's outstanding flow versus removal
relationship. The rough surface physically captures small
and mid-sized
particles as the water passes through the media bed.
Kinetico has designed a full line of
packaged systems featuring Macrolite to treat wastewater for
reducing turbidity and particulate levels. It is affordable
with comparatively low operating costs and comparative capital
investment. Unlike other medias, it can be customized to meet
special application requirements. In addition, it has an extremely
long service life and under normal conditions should never
need replacing.
